Job Description
- To foresee the movement of goods between the home country and other countries and vice versa.
- IEM should manage the import coming to the home country as well as exporting of goods going out of the home country along with the general duties at the office.
- Keep in touch with freight forwarders professionals from logistics companies, and suppliers.
- To ensure that the Company is compliant with the rules and regulations of the home country as well as the exporting country.
- Managing the delays that may occur during the export and import process should also be controlled by the manager to minimize production losses.
- Keep the customer notified in case of any delays in the shipments.
- IEM should continuously keep checking whether there are opportunities for lowering the cost of the freight forwarding and shipping charges without impacting time and quality of delivery.
- Consultation of the clients regarding insurances, duties and taxes
- Maintenance of customer relations and working in close coordination with the sales team for the advance planning for logistics
- Assessment of new marketing and sales opportunities as well as presentation of those estimations to the respective managements
- Issues related to time zone delays also need to be managed by the Import-Export manager.
- Keeping good relationships with the various agencies, clients and vendors
- It is also essential to arrange meetings with the clients and vendors regularly for keeping the good relationships.
- Renewing contracts with the clients, Suppliers and vendors.
- Travelling from factory to custom clearance sea port or Airport.
- Update Customs duty rates and CTH codes.
- Working knowledge about the transit insurance and claims settlement procedures.
